Encore! Sessions, produced by Forward and sponsored by Absolut Elyx, made its Los Angeles debut Grammy weekend with an event held on Friday, January 24 at The Standard Hollywood's intimate club mmhmmm, and co-hosted by 300 Entertainment--the new company started by former Warner Music Group recorded music executives Lyor Cohen, Todd Moscowitz and Kevin Liles. The event, named one of 'The Top 10 Grammy Parties' by the Hollywood Reporter, featured performances from 300 artist ASTR, and deejay sets from the Been Trill collective and Wade Crescent.

Ricardo Khan and L. Kenneth Richardson, who co-founded Crossroads Theatre Company in 1978 as young Rutgers graduates, will reunite for the first time in 25 years at a special kickoff event for 'Legacy Month' on Sunday, Feb. 9, celebrating the theater's history and enduring contributions to black theater and the American cultural landscape.

Next month as a part of their Black History Month celebration, The Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street) along with the World Music Institute will offer a special concert from Grammy Award-winning African music star Angelique Kidjo on February 15 at 8pm (co-presented by the World Music Institute). This concert marks the New York stop of her new album release tour. The album, Eve, is being released later this month on 1/28.

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, presents a free reading of Ferenc Molnar's Liliom, the play upon which the popular 1950's musical Carousel was based. Apollo Dukakis, a resident artist with the company, directs the piece, using the Benjamin F. Glazer translation, with a cast of sixteen portraying multiple roles. Admission for the reading is free. Music Director Alan Gilbert opens the New York Philharmonic's 2013-14 season with the Opening Gala concert, headlined by cellist Yo-Yo Ma, tonight, September 25, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Gilbert will conduct Mr. Ma and the Orchestra in two works by Argentinian composers: the World Premiere of Octavio Brunetti's arrangement, commissioned by the New York Philharmonic, of a suite from Astor Piazzolla's La serie del Ángel, and Osvaldo Golijov's Azul, composed for the eminent cellist. The program opens with Ravel's Alborada del gracioso and closes with Bolero, two pieces that reflect the French composer's fascination with Spain. The concert will be telecast nationally on Live From Lincoln Center at a later date, and Classical 105.9 FM WQXR at 7:30 p.m.

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, in association with First Folio Theatre, will present 'Searching for Peabody's Tomb', an interactive Halloween experience, for the haunting holiday season. With show times every half hour, groups of 15-20 will join the mansion's ghostly butler as he guides you through historic Mayslake Hall, in search of the spirit of F.S. Peabody, the coal millionaire who built the mansion in 1921. Tickets are $10, with a recommended minimum age of 12. Reservations are encouraged. 'Stravinsky Re-invented: From Paris to Los Angeles,' the second and final weekend of the 24th annual Bard Music Festival in New York'sAnnandale-on-Hudson, follows Igor Stravinsky from Europe to post-war Hollywood, investigating his subsequent shift in style from neoclassicism to serialism. The weekend opens tonight, August 16, with a screening of film clips that document the great Russian innovator, with commentary by Professor Charles M. Joseph, author of Stravinsky Inside Out. This special session is followed by the weekend's first concert, 'Against Interpretation and Expression: The Aesthetics of Mechanization,' a program of postmodernist ensemble classics by Stravinsky, Bartók, Varèse, Hindemith, and Messiaen; soloists include Grammy-nominated pianist Peter Serkin and So Percussion's Eric Beach.
